Best Products to Fake or Enhance a Tan

As summer is rolling in, I want to look like a crisp, fresh out the oven, croissant. I was never one to use fake tanner, because:

  1. I don’t like standing naked while I wait for fake tanner to dry off
  2. I always somehow streak it
  3. I’m not patient enough to do the whole process.

Being half Guatemalan and Polish, I do get some of them Guatemalan genes and can tan easily. But, I still don’t get that exact golden tan I want. So, with that being said, my fave tanning products are so easy and quick to use and it gives me that golden croissant look I’ve been wanting to achieve without all the effort.

Why I Like These Products:

  • Most of These Products are Gradual Tanners! (So, they don’t give you that obvious fake tan look. It gradually ‘tans’ your skin and gives you a color that suits your actual skin type and color. You won’t see results the minute you apply it, but it gradually enhances as the day goes by.)
  • They’re Not Messy (They don’t stain anything!)
  • They’re Quick & Easy! (It’s easy to apply and don’t streak! Also, you can put it on and  go about your day without having to wait for anything to dry.)

The Products:

St. Tropez Gradual Tan—Tinted Body Lotion:

This stuff is the holy grail of tinted lotion! You slap that puppy on and come out looking TAN.. You apply it like regular body lotion. The more you layer on the darker the color builds. (Disclaimer: wash your hands after use, this stuff is pigmenteddddd. You don’t want orange hands!)

St. Tropez Self-Tan Facial Mist:

Besides smelling like a tropical vacation, this facial mist is the quickest and easiest way to tan your face! You can spray it on your bare face or even on top of your makeup! Just make sure to hold the bottle close enough to your face. You might get these misted dot stains if you hold it far away.

St. Tropez Shower Gradual Tan:

(I use shade Medium) This product is not depicted in my photo so here’s what it looks like.

This is one of my favorites from the lists. I use this year-round and it’s so easy and mess-free! You apply it wherever you want and let it set for 2-3 minutes and then rinse it off. Best part is you never have to get out of the shower! Also, it hydrates your skin! You won’t walk out of the shower tan, but it develops throughout the day. (Disclaimer: this product doesn’t give you a drastic change in color, it’s a very natural glow look)

Australian Gold-Instant Bronzer Sunscreen:

(Comes in SPF 15 & 30)

This sunscreen has been used in my family forever! Getting tan while also getting that SPF is a double win. This sunscreen is tinted but doesn’t streak your body, really enhancing your tan while you’re catching rays.

Tanologist Face+Body Drops:

(I use shade Medium)

I recently started using this product and it’s very easy to use! You just squeeze a few drops in your favorite moisturizer and apply it to your face or body. It gradually gives you that natural tan. The drops are not oily and don’t break out my acne prone skin. Plus, you can get these drops at Target!!!

Tanning Tips:

  • Exfoliate
  • Shave
  • Moisturize

Simple, Easy, To the Point

Where I Purchased My Products:

St. Tropez Products: I’ve purchased St. Tropez products at Sephora, but when I’m lucky, I find the St. Tropez Shower Tanner and Body Lotion at Marshalls & TJ Maxx. If you purchase it at Marshalls/TJ Maxx they’re usually cheaper! You have to really hunt through the aisles to strike gold. Never underestimate Marshalls & TJ Maxx

Australian Gold-Instant Bronzer: Target or CVS!

Tanologist Face+Body Drops: Target! They just have it all.
